Dear SCCM Southeast Chapter Members,

One of the educational resources offered by the Southeast Chapter of SCCM is the Bite-Sized Lecture Series. These hour-long lectures provide unique opportunities for chapter members and critical care professionals to gain experience presenting to a regional audience. We are currently seeking speakers for our Bite-Sized Lecture Series. In-training members and new practitioners are welcome! Please see below for details and respond to this email with any questions or to express interest.

Who: In-training and full members of the Southeast SCCM Chapter and their colleagues. In training members, new practitioners, and seasoned speakers are all welcome! The panel of speakers in each session should represent at least two different professions.

·       Speakers should have a reference who can attest to their speaking abilities

·       In-training members should have a mentor who can support them in preparing their lecture

What: A multi-professional panel of three to four speakers will each deliver a 10-12 minute bite-sized learning lecture on complimentary topics. (Ex. Overall topic: Management of Stroke may include insight from a neurologist regarding pathophysiology, a pharmacist speaking to administration of thrombolytics, and nurses speaking to nursing considerations and devices used).

When: The lectures typically take place at lunchtime (12:30 – 1:30 ET; 11:30 – 12:30 CT), although times are flexible to accommodate for availability of the speakers. We aim to offer these lectures on a quarterly basis, based on speaker interest.

Where: Online! The lecture will be broadcasted to all interested SCCMSE chapter members.

Why: There are numerous benefits, including engaging, high-yield learning in short, easy to digest segments and an opportunity for members to gain regional speaking experience.

How: If you are interested in organizing a group to speak at a Bite-Sized Lecture Series, please email with recommended speaker(s) and topic(s).
